Demand Planner/Forecast Analyst

Duties

This position is accountable for the development and ongoing maintenance of Product Forecasts, Product Sales Trend Analysis, Intraplant Demand Planning of all NYAB Locations. As a corporate function, A principle objective of this position is to provide input to the material plan for the purpose of improving customer service levels. To accomplish this it will be necessary to determine demand patterns, and to recommend material stocking levels of finished goods for all product lines including OEM Freight, OEM Locomotive, Spares & Repairs, and new products. The incumbent will use statistical methods to analyze collected data. Data will be entered using the Forecast data bases and system tools. All available forecasting methods will be used to prepare a Resultant Forecast. Continuous improvement methods will be used to improve forecast accuracy. The expectation of this position will be to challenge any forecast data elements which are not in line with corporate inventory or authorization limits, nor consistant with known demand patterns. The position will also be responsble for MRP in parts as assigned.

Embedded Systems Developer

Duties

This position is responsible for designing, developing, testing, and documenting software used in embedded system applications sold and leased by the Train Dynamic Systems group. Develop software for a system with limited and restricted access (debugging the onboard system while not impacting locomotive operations). Working in a small group requires the individual to be highly resourceful and motivated.

•Bachelor Degree •Five years job related experience •Knowledgeable and experienced with real-time operating systems (QNX preferred), low level device interfacing (e.g. video and serial device drivers), the C and C++ programming language, POSIX threads, TCP/IP socket programming, and standard hardware interfaces (RS232, RS422, PARALLEL, Ethernet, analog and binary I/O, etc.) •Capable of developing and debugging multi-threaded real-time applications •Familiar with software processes (e.g. CMMI) •Good communication skills •Database experience (e.g. MySQL) is a plus •LINUX programming experience is a plus

Field Service Technician

Duties

Provide technical support to customers' at their locations. Exercises independent judgment at customer site. Assist in the daily operations of the field service department as related to the activities of the technical support operations center (TSOC). To include trouble-shooting any/all NYAB/Knorr products via phone or on-site, implementation of Field Modification Instructions (FMI's). Also included is: training customers (brake systems), FMI tracking, data collection and analysis, and internal process support as required (FRB,toll-gates, etc) Responsibilities include: •Provide technical support for brake systems by troubleshooting customer complaints. Significant travel is required. •Manufacturing, configuring, building and testing products. 30% •Assist with FMI (field modifications/up-grades) implementation both internal and external. Estimate costs and maintain records of activities (i.e. % complete, material estimates, field issues, reports, and conference calls with customers). •Significant travel is required. •Assist manager and others within the marketing dept. with projects/assignments as needed; to include FRB,technical assistance to CCC, and FMI approval board. •Develop training classes on brake systems in-house and at customer locations. This position is responsible for the engineering development and project management of Car and Locomotive brake systems / subsystems and highly integrated systems involving EP-60, CCB and LEADER products. Duties include: Liaison between NYAB (Mkt., Manf. & Eng.) and our customers and end users: System technical proposals and presentations; Customer/End User specification compliance; Training; and Field application troubleshooting. This individual will represent NYAB for various FRA, AAR and ASME meetings, workshops and technical papers. Individual must be prepared for travel both domestic and international.

Strong core product knowledge (26L, DB60/AB, Knorr electronics and pneumatics). Individual must be prepared for occasional travel both domestic and international.

Required Skills

•BS in Engineering field. •Three years experience in a system design/project engineering environment. •Demonstrated aptitude in multiple disciplines of system design, software, electronic and mechanical engineering, as well as applications principals to interact effectively across all engineering department boundaries. •Good human relations skills for direct communication within and outside the company. •Ability to work effectively within a team environment. •Strong Technical Writing skills. •Proficient PC skills in Office Tools.
